InterNetWork Marketing

The internet itself is still in its infancy. We are only beginning to grasp its potential and for some reason, some of us in network marketing have been particularly slow in seeing the possibilities. With thousands and thousands of websites going up, most are still nothing more than virtual stores.

This means you are at the ground level of a new, better way of doing things. There have been just enough “pioneers” before you to pave the way, but you are still going to be able to ride the wave of a new and ever expanding technology.

Better yet, you don’t have to know a thing about computers—you just have to have one. Everything else can be taught. How to market your business, how to use the tools available to you, how to find free network marketing training, as well as some step by step instruction will be found on the pages of this site.

Customer Relations

The shift in thinking doesn’t just involve where we do our business, it’s more about how we do business.

Today’s customer is much too savvy to be lured into a purchase simply because a webpage has a flashy design, or displays sales pitch after sales pitch. People don’t like the “hard sell” approach and they never did. In the old days, they were dependent on the salesman to give them the information on the product they wanted to buy. They were forced to endure the “what can I do to get you to buy today” and “this is a one-time only offer” techniques. Now shoppers have many more choices, and they are much more informed. If they want to know about your product, they are perfectly capable of finding out about it on their own. They don’t have to deal with pushy salespeople.

Well informed customers are ready-to-buy customers. They have a need and have taken the time to learn about solutions. Just like you are doing right now. When they find value, they will not only recognize it, they will pounce on it.

You are going to be the one to deliver that value to your customer. You’re not going to do it by chasing down strangers everywhere you go. You’re not going to do it by high pressure sales pitches. In fact, you’re not going to “sell” at all. You’re going to give! That’s right. The sale must be put aside, and finding out about your customer’s needs must be your focus.

If you have already been in sales, the concept of not leading with your product or business opportunity may be hard to accept. It’s not what we’ve been taught all these years. Nevertheless, you will make sure that your prospects and customers benefit from each interaction with you. By taking the time to build strong relationships, and by branding yourself as a leader in the network marketing community and your business, the customers will come to you as someone with whom they want to do business.

The Network Marketing Community

Another thing that makes now such a great time to be in network marketing is that marketers themselves are networking with one another like never before. Not only does the internet put us in touch with millions of potential prospects, but it unites us with other networkers as well. This allows us to learn from one another’s experiences and to interact with those who really know the challenges we face. Up until now, the competition has been fierce and “success secrets” closely held. The new network marketers realize that being willing to teach each other what we do, helps everyone. This is truly an exciting time!

One of my mentors, Dr. Ken Evoy, who is actually the founder of SiteBuildIt, the host for this website, often reminds his SBI beginners to “remember the way of the tortoise.” No matter how badly you want to charge ahead and get things going, take the time each step in your business process deserves. Building a business is not easy, nor is it quick. It takes a great deal of commitment and self-discipline on your part.

Initially, you will wonder how in the world you will fit everything in. Consider time your most important investment. The time you put in now, to choose the right opportunity, to educate yourself on effective marketing techniques, to learn new skills like building a website, will get your business off to the best start possible.
